Gas Gas Enduro line got its first make up after its first launch under the KTM AG Group umbrella back in 2021. The bike got a lot redder in graphics as well as with few updates here and there. Being slightly cheaper than its sister brand’s models, Gas Gas is a popular one among the riders and you can easily tell just by looking the race paddocks. The reason might be that it is a good mixture of KTM’s EXC and Husqvarna’s TE line. Gas Gas’s MY23 enduro line up is available globally with all EC 250, EC 300, EC 250F, and EC 350F. Extreme Enduro Supreme, Erzbergrodeo, returned back from two consecutive cancellations and it was the Round 4 of the FIM Hard Enduro World Championship’s 2022 Season. Racing weekend started with the Rocket Ride on Thursday and followed with prologue session on Friday and Saturday, where all competitors to take at least one Iron Road Heat and try to be in the fastest 500 in order to be qualified for Sunday’s Hare Scramble. Oskar Kaczmarczyk, POL, qualified 55th at the Iron Road Prologue and reserved his spot at the second row of the main race. Despite he got stuck at several places he managed to keep fighting to get the best result possible. In the end he completed the race at CP19 - Burping Stones with P50. Because he was not competing at the FIM championship we were able to hook him up with a helmet mount GoPro and therefore to produce the best POV Erzbergrodeo struggle for the fans. Round 3 at the FIM World Hard Enduro Championship was the Red Bull Erzbergrodeo and duty number one was the 10KM Iron Road Prologue. Prologue Heat 1 was on Friday and the track was wet from the rain that region received over night. More than 900 riders took the mission and tried their best to get qualified for the Hare Scramble. Heat 2 was on the next day and because the track dried up, we had a completely different story. Most of the riders couldn’t achieve a better rhythm because of the dry and loose track. Sonny Goggia shocked everyone and set a really competitive time in those conditions. He completed the day on top but over all top 3 was from the Heat 1. Dieter Rudolf took only one shot and it was on Friday’s Heat one. The Austrian set a competitive time and secured his first row start position, P16 - 07:25,495. More than 150 extreme hill climb enthusiast, including Pol Tarres with his T7, gathered up for one of the most iconic hard enduro race event, Rocket Ride of Erzbergrodeo 2022. Racing week of the FIM Hard Enduro World Championship’s Round 3 Erzbergrodeo started with Mitas Rocket Ride on Thursday, 16th of June. All competitors had the chance to hit two hot laps in order to be qualified for the finals. After the prologue session it was Chris Perry who qualified on top. He was followed by Sonny Goggia and Oskar Kaczmarczyk. We then jumped into the whole shot knock-out final sessions in the afternoon. After finishing the qualification with P22 and barely making it into quarter finals, Pol Tarres had a great run both in Quarter and Semi-Finals which let him lined up for the Super Final. In the end we were ready final go and it was Pol Tarres with his fat 2-cylinder T7 against lightweight enduro and motocross singles. Pol couldn’t hold a chance against them and finished last but still it was an epic journey to the finals. 934 riders lined up for a 2-day Erzbergrodeo 2022 Iron Road Prologue session at the Erzbergrodeo 2022, Round 3 of the FIM’s World Hard Enduro Championship. All riders were to take at least one heat on the 10KM track around the Iron Giant where they enjoyed the crazy fast straights, hill climbs and drifty hair pin turns. Heat 1 served a better condition to riders because the track was half wet and was easy to find better grip. The difference among the track conditions between Heat 1 and 2 were so dire, only a small number of riders improved their times left from Heat 1. Kailub Russell and Dominik Olszowy were riding on a different level and the American was only able to clinch it by a nose, 0.071 seconds. Kyle Flanagan completed the trio with a fantastic P3. This was South African’s second race in two years, he was basically a tourist there but a fast one. Italy’s Sonny Goggia was the Heat 2’s winner and one of the very few to improve the time from Heat 1. It wasn’t enough to place him among the top 3 but worth a shout, he got P4. FIM World Hard Enduro Championship action resumed with Rd3 Red Bull Erzbergrodeo 2022 and we witnessed one of the most extreme Hare Scramble ever, if not the most. After being cancelled for two consecutive years, in 2020 & 2021, due to global pandemic it was wonderful to see all fans and riders showed up for a great racing experience. Hare Scramble, Main Race, took start at 14:30 CEST and 50 pax whole shot lines broke in towards the Iron Giant. KTM’s Manuel Lettenbichler took a perfect start and kept himself in the leading group of the first whole-shot till the hills and that helped him avoiding early traffic jams into the race. The young German then rode a great pace and brought the victory home for the team. The one and only struggle point was the CP22 Motorex Highway but he managed to keep calm and pass through in the end. It was Mario Roman who came in P2. The Spaniard made some damage repair at the Overall Championship ladder especially after the P10 result in Serbia, Rd2 Xross Hard Enduro Rally. Trystan Hart’s Erzbergrodeo 2022 journey was the most exiting one among the podium contenders. Canadian got in and out of the leading group but the last major mistake he did before Carl’s Dinner almost wiped his possible podium expectations. Keeping it tight and focused Trystan made a huge job through Carl’s Dinner and came out 3rd. Erzbergrodeo 2022 made its comeback after three years of missing and the 4-day hard enduro festival was crowned with an iconic Red Bull Erzbergrodeo 2022 Hare Scramble edition. The extreme enduro supreme was crippled and cancelled both in 2020 and 2021 which carried the expectations even further. Racing week started with Rocket Ride prologue and finals on Thursday. It then continued with the Iron Road prologue heat one on Friday and Heat 2 on Saturday. The fastest 500 were qualified to line up for Hare Scramble on Sunday. The main race of the 26th edition of Erzbergrodeo, Hare Scramble, took off at 14:30 CEST and the battle began. Manuel Lettenbichler had a great start and avoided the traffic very early in the race. The German then rode a flawless pace all alone till CP22, AKA Motorex Highway. When Mani arrived to the newly introduced section it was more then 8 minutes clearance against his closest rival, Mario Roman. Arriving there first without and prior race line, he struggled a lot and ended up having Mario on his tail. Letti was the first to clear CP22 and after that it was basically the Dynamite which could cause problems. He kept his calm and continued without making any mistakes and brought the victory home for the Team. Manuel & Andreas Lettenbichler became the only Father-Son duo to win it in Erzberg, Andreas Lettenbichler won it in 2015. The German also got his second consecutive win in the championship after missing Round 1, Minus 400, and put himself in the P3 at the overall classification of World Hard Enduro Championship, 40pts. Mario Roman was another one coming from an injury from Xross Hard Enduro Rally and he wasn’t fully recovered from it. Spaniard was on a roll despite all and had a great day on the bike. After winning Minus 400 Desert Extreme, he got himself another podium in Round 3, P2. Trystan Hart completed the podium and made history of being the first Canadian on the podium in Erzberg. He had his ups and downs throughout the race and even dropped to P8 before Carl’s Dinner but it didn’t take long to recover those positions and more back.
