The King of the Carpathians extends his reign over the World’s Toughest Hard Enduro Rallye, Red Bull Romaniacs, with a sensational 7th win at the age of 47. After a stunning ride on Day 3, Graham Jarvis put a comfortable lead to his closest rival Teodor Kabakchiev, +15m44s. All he had to do on the final day was to avoid any mistake and nurture his Husky to the finish line. The GOAT did well and finished the day with P5, only 7m behind Teodor, which was the mark of the Victory. Teodor Kabakchiev proved himself to be a serious contender and made it to the P2 podium spot before some of the finest factory riders. The Bulgarian privateer scored his best ever Romaniacs venture by finishing it 8m32s behind the victor. Mario Roman was in a fight for a better podium spot and finished the day ahead of Teodor but it was just not enough the gain an extra position. The Spaniard completed the podium with +13m26s to Graham. This became his 2nd consecutive P3 at the Carpathians. At the Silver Class, Chris Birch clinched a tight victory with only 1m26s ahead of Fabien Poirot and enjoyed the podium spot with a cheer of champagne. Matthias Walkner’s Romaniacs journey also ended with a podium spot at the Bronze Class. He a P3 with his chunky KTM 450 Rally. Hard Enduro World Championship moved to North America for Rd6 TKO in US and for Rd7 Outliers in Canada. We were not able to follow up these two but will be in Spain for the last round, Hixpania Hard Enduro. Off-road Day 2 at the Red Bull Romaniacs 2022 was started with an early morning shower which was to add some spice to the competition but it didn’t last long and we were back at dusty conditions again. Title defender Manuel Lettenbichler, whose hopes of winning the race were battered with a 2h time penalty on Day 1, started the day from 17th place. The German rode an blistering pace though out the day and came out on top by clearing more than 16 minutes to his closest rival for the day, Graham Jarvis. With the fact that Mani is out of the picture, Graham Jarvis had to focus on Teodor Kabakchiev and Mario Roman without getting into trouble. The GOAT got the job done by coming in faster than both behind Mani, P2. He stretched his overall lead to more than 9 minutes against Kabakchiev. It was the young Bulgarian who completed the top 3 for the day and kept his overall P2 position. The breaking news of the day was Alfredo Gomez’s food poisoning. The Spaniard explained the situation via an Instagram post saying that something he had for dinner the previous day affected him badly. He wasn’t able to sleep or have something to eat all day long and received medical aid. Chris Birch’s P1 performance on Day 2 brought him the overall lead by one minute at the Silver Class. Off-road day one of the World’s toughest hard enduro rallye, Red Bull Romaniacs 2022, started with a big drama for the title defender Manuel Lettenbichler. The German cooked his clutch at the Babysitter and forced to receive outside help, which then caused him a 2h time penalty. He then dropped back to P17 from P7. On the other hand, 6-Time Romaniacs winner Graham Jarvis had a stunning day on the track which let him finished on top, 4h47m15s. The Brit rode a stunning pace without making any major mistakes and cleared more than 4 minutes against his closest rival, Teodor Kabakchiev. The young Bulgarian continued to impress hard enduro fans and made a perfect start to his Romaniacs 2022 journey by scoring the second-best time of the day. Trystan Hart completed the top 3 for the day. Former Romaniacs winner and hard enduro veteran Chris Birch,2010, came out to compete in the silver class and so far, his journey is getting the momentum. He completed the day in 3rd position, only 39s behind Fabien Poirot and Adam Giles. The Dakar winner and MX World champion Matthias Walkner was another one to keep an eye on with his dune eating big Rally Bike. 36th edition of Trefle Lozerien AMV held past weekend in Mende, France, with over 500 riders and it was a true enduro festival with great organizational experience and fans from around the world. The title fight was a tight one between KTM’s Josep Garcia and Gas Gas’s Andrea Verona. The leading duo was on another level of riding with the tightest margins at the each special but at the end it was Josep Garcia who claimed the victory. The Spaniard added his name to the winners of Therle Lozerien AMV for the second time after his first victory in 2019. Extreme XL Lagares 2022 was held past weekend and it was a great hard enduro show for both competitors and fans. After last years hectic last minute cancellation it was the time for a great comeback in 2022. Organization put a great effort and added the iconic city prologue again but this time on the other side of the river. Sherco duo Mario Roman and Wade Young was everyone's favourite but William Hoare, Francesc Moret and Diogo Vieira were strong challengers. City Prologue wholeshot was a brief one and it was won by Mario. He was followed by fellow teammate Wade and Diogo was 3rd. Endurocross action consisted of two semi-finals and a super final for each class. Pro class super final victory was claimed by Eurotek's William Hoare. Diogo Vieira came in P2 and Wade Young P3. Main Race on Sunday took start at 10:00am local. Wade Young was the early leader of the stage and kept it for a while. Mario Roman recovered the damage left from the Endurocross and managed to pass his teammate for the victory. Wade came in P2 and William Hoare P3. The action at the ACU’s British Extreme Enduro 2022 Championship resumed with Round 2 Cowm Quarry in Rochdale under very un-British weather conditions. The course at the Cowm Leisure Off-Road centre was bone dry and the sun was warming as a day left from summer. Billy Bolt took no rest after season closure back-to-back Super Enduro GPs in Germany, where he got his second consecutive championship title, and came all the way home for British Extreme. He had a flawless day of riding without pushing it too hard and tackled with William Hoare, early leader, quite a while. Getting close to the chequered flag Billy took the lead and came in as the victor of Rd 2 Cowm Quarry. William Hoare had a great performance against Billy and the challenge they had gave buzz to the British fans. He took the early lead and kept it going till the 5th lap, where he lost it against Bolt. He than pushed it hard but came in P2 with only 1m12s behind. Jack Price finished the race with P3 and Paul Bolton P4. Abestone Hard Enduro 2021 was the event’s debut edition and it took the World Hard Enduro Championship heat onto the rocks of Italia’s one of finest ski resorts, Abetone – Tuscany. The racing weekend witnessed a tight battle between Billy Bolt and Manuel Lettenbichler. It was Bolt who won it by a nose and took the advantage at the championship ladder. Lettenbichler came in P2 and hardenduro legend Graham Jarvis P3. Dieter Rudolf raced in Expert Class and did an excellent job by finishing P14 overall and P2 in the Expert Class. 2022 Season of the Spanish Hard Enduro debuted with Rd 1 La Clua De Basella on the last weekend of January, 29-30th. We kicked off the racing weekend with the training session which took 2h of practice for anyone willing. After than it was prologue time and each rider hit it for two hot laps. Saturday ended with the prologue and we headed to the main event on Sunday. The main race was a tricky one just as the prologue and caused a lot of trouble to the riders. Prologue winner Mario Roman came in P1 and won the race in the end. He is accompanied by Teodor Kabakchiev (P2) and Francesc Moret Clota (P3).
