World’s toughest hard enduro rally Red Bull Romaniacs 2022 was held for the 19th time this year, 26-30 July 2022, as the 5th round of FIM’s Hard Enduro World Championship. The Carpathian challenge was always a great show for the fans but in 2020 and 2021 we didn’t get the iconic City Prolouge due to global pandemic restrictions. This year though was special and we finally got back the trickiest prologue back. After two years of absence Extreme XL Lagares was back on for the 2022 edition and during the whole weekend we captured some of the most unique and scientifically unexplainable hard enduro fails. Main race on Sunday was easier than usual and it was completed 1 hour earlier than expected but both City Prologue and the Endurocross tracks were tricky as hell. We edited the best of the fails that caught on cameras for you to enjoy and learn. We thank to all fans for the cheer and to the organization for a great show. Racing weekend was started with Endurocross on Friday and continued with City Prologue on Saturday. Especially having the iconic City Prologue back was exciting even if it was a brief one. After each rider took one lap the fastest 10 qualified for the whole shot. Endurocross semi-finals and the final were in the evening. Main race was on Sunday. Italian Extreme Enduro 2022 Season kicked off with Round 1 Wild Woods Extreme in Genova. Being a beautiful race and a great organization, it attracted a lot of international faces including Michael Walkner, Dominik Olszowy and Matt Green. Racing weekend started with the prologue and each classes took 1h to set the best time for main race starting position. Heavy rain that the region had during past week forced the organizer to cancel a number of sectors but still with iconic riverbeds and hill climbs it was a great action. The World of Extreme Enduro welcomed the 2022 season with the iconic French challenge, Alestrem Hard Enduro. After missing it last year due to global pandemic the participation was beyond expectations and the fans were amazing as well. The racing weekend consisted of three events; 1. Xtrem Test (Saturday) 2. Minevra Prologue (Saturday) 3. Main Race (Sunday) Minevra Prologue was won by Alfredo Gomez. He accompanied by Sherco’s Mario Roman and young Frenchman Fabien Poirot on the podium. Main event started last in order on Sunday CET 10:00 and there were 3 laps ahead. Being one of the longest rides, +7h, of any known racing day Alestrem Hard Enduro gets tougher each lap. 3rd lap was a killer and riders had to gear up with extra lights at the last pit stop. The favorite trio, Mario Roman - Wade Young - Alfredo Gomez, left the last pit stop back-to-back for the final lap and an extreme battle started. Mario was last in the order but it didn’t take long to catch and pass Alfredo between CP2 and CP3. He then caught Wade before CP6 and the two were racing hard and taking the lead back and forth. After CP8 Wade Young ran out of gas and had to stop desperately. Mario then brought a comfortable win home for the team and became the most winning of the Alestrem Hard Enduro, 3 times. Taking advantage of Wade’s desperation, Alfredo Gomez showed up at the finish line with P2. On the other hand, Wade was desperate in the woods and hoping a helping hand to arrive. After a 10 or more riders passed through, one hero stopped and shared what he has left in his tank. South African then continued to his race and came in P3. Hard Enduro riders and fans from all around the world gathered for an epic season opener at the iconic French 24MX Alestrem Hard Enduro and team Sherco Factory drew the spotlights with Mario Roman and Wade Young aboard. We also had top privateers such as Alfredo Gomes and Sonny Goggia as well as French rising star Fabien Poirot. Racing weekend started with the single-track prologue. The set up and the terrain was at its perfect conditions and unlike 2020 we did not receive any rain beforehand. Since we missed it last year due to global pandemic, 500+ enduro enthusiasts along with the French fans were enjoyed it as much as possible. Hixpania Hard Enduro 2021’s Campoo Xtreme and The Lost Way actions were so cruel and gnarly that most of the challengers finished it with a Master's degree of failing. The penultimate round of the FIM’s World Hard Enduro Championship 2021 season was slightly different than its regular format. We missed the iconic inner city super enduro prologue which usually is an excitement source on its own. The overnight rain and the expectation during racing forced the organizers to cancel a couple sectors from it but it didn’t mean it was an easy bite. British Extreme Enduro Championship, Round 2 Cowm Leisure was held in Rochdale on 16th of February. The main event of the day was the glamorous PM race with all the great talents including general standings leader Billy Bolt and KTM’s Jonny Walker. The race was threatened by a huge and destructive storm called “Dennis”. Luckily it was cleared mostly in the race morning and 175 riders and organizer took a sigh of relief. The heavy rain, received in the night, in combination with British soil made it pretty hard for all contenders and therefor we witnessed a true struggle. Just like in the Round 1 Tong Rockstar Husqvarna’s Billy Bolt claimed a clear victory over the rest and kept himself on top of general standings as we head to the Round 3, H20. Jonny Walker got his 2nd consecutive P2 and William Hoare P3. Taddy Blazusiak, unlike Round 1, missed the line-up as it wasn’t a priority championship to follow for him.
