International Six Days of Enduro 2022 continued with Day 2 and we had a baunce back from Team United Kingdom. For the personal best performance it was again Spain's Josep Garcia who set the best time for the day. Throughout the 5 specials, Team UK was on a roll and got the Day's lead with a clear 1m24s. At the Women's World Trophy Team US continued their lead by winning the day again on day two. At the Junior Class Team Italy is on a roll and made their statement over the edition by showing off muscle repeatedly. After the riders spent the night at the Ranca Ski resort off road Day 3 of the Red Bull Romaniacs 2022 took start above the clouds, 2000 meters of altitude, with a fast grass section ahead at the early stages. Graham Jarvis got his second Day’s win of the Romaniacs 2022 and stretched his lead as the GOAT edges to his historic 7th win of the toughest Hard Enduro Rallye. With no hope of winning the race, Manuel Lettenbichler tried to recover as much places as possible and the German came in P2 for the day. Championship leader now sits in P6 overall. Mario Roman was another hot start of the day. Spaniard got caught by Michael Walkner early in the day but the duo fired each other than and made some time against Teodor Kabakchiev which wasn’t enough to pass him at the overall ladder. There were three retirements from the race on Day 3. The City Prologue top two Alfredo Gomez and Taddy Blazusiak retired at the service point. Taddy complained about the wrist and felt its unnecessary to push further through this intense racing. Alfredo’s food poisoning had gone worse and broke his physical condition to continue. Extreme Enduro Supreme, Erzbergrodeo, returned back from two consecutive cancellations and it was the Round 4 of the FIM Hard Enduro World Championship’s 2022 Season. Racing weekend started with the Rocket Ride on Thursday and followed with prologue session on Friday and Saturday, where all competitors to take at least one Iron Road Heat and try to be in the fastest 500 in order to be qualified for Sunday’s Hare Scramble. Oskar Kaczmarczyk, POL, qualified 55th at the Iron Road Prologue and reserved his spot at the second row of the main race. Despite he got stuck at several places he managed to keep fighting to get the best result possible. In the end he completed the race at CP19 - Burping Stones with P50. Because he was not competing at the FIM championship we were able to hook him up with a helmet mount GoPro and therefore to produce the best POV Erzbergrodeo struggle for the fans. We thank Oskar for being our eyes on the track, the rare moments that he encountered Pol Tarres with his T7 is an extra joy. Round 3 at the FIM World Hard Enduro Championship was the Red Bull Erzbergrodeo and duty number one was the 10KM Iron Road Prologue. Prologue Heat 1 was on Friday and the track was wet from the rain that region received over night. More than 900 riders took the mission and tried their best to get qualified for the Hare Scramble. Heat 2 was on the next day and because the track dried up, we had a completely different story. Most of the riders couldn’t achieve a better rhythm because of the dry and loose track. Sonny Goggia shocked everyone and set a really competitive time in those conditions. He completed the day on top but over all top 3 was from the Heat 1. Dieter Rudolf took only one shot and it was on Friday’s Heat one. The Austrian set a competitive time and secured his first row start position, P16 - 07:25,495. More than 150 extreme hill climb enthusiast, including Pol Tarres with his T7, gathered up for one of the most iconic hard enduro race event, Rocket Ride of Erzbergrodeo 2022. Racing week of the FIM Hard Enduro World Championship’s Round 3 Erzbergrodeo started with Mitas Rocket Ride on Thursday, 16th of June. All competitors had the chance to hit two hot laps in order to be qualified for the finals. After the prologue session it was Chris Perry who qualified on top. He was followed by Sonny Goggia and Oskar Kaczmarczyk. We then jumped into the whole shot knock-out final sessions in the afternoon. After finishing the qualification with P22 and barely making it into quarter finals, Pol Tarres had a great run both in Quarter and Semi-Finals which let him lined up for the Super Final. In the end we were ready final go and it was Pol Tarres with his fat 2-cylinder T7 against lightweight enduro and motocross singles. Pol couldn’t hold a chance against them and finished last but still it was an epic journey to the finals. Erzbergrodeo 2022 made its comeback after three years of missing and the 4-day hard enduro festival was crowned with an iconic Red Bull Erzbergrodeo 2022 Hare Scramble edition. The extreme enduro supreme was crippled and cancelled both in 2020 and 2021 which carried the expectations even further. Racing week started with Rocket Ride prologue and finals on Thursday. It then continued with the Iron Road prologue heat one on Friday and Heat 2 on Saturday. The fastest 500 were qualified to line up for Hare Scramble on Sunday. The main race of the 26th edition of Erzbergrodeo, Hare Scramble, took off at 14:30 CEST and the battle began. Manuel Lettenbichler had a great start and avoided the traffic very early in the race. The German then rode a flawless pace all alone till CP22, AKA Motorex Highway. When Mani arrived to the newly introduced section it was more then 8 minutes clearance against his closest rival, Mario Roman. Arriving there first without and prior race line, he struggled a lot and ended up having Mario on his tail. Letti was the first to clear CP22 and after that it was basically the Dynamite which could cause problems. He kept his calm and continued without making any mistakes and brought the victory home for the Team. Manuel & Andreas Lettenbichler became the only Father-Son duo to win it in Erzberg, Andreas Lettenbichler won it in 2015. The German also got his second consecutive win in the championship after missing Round 1, Minus 400, and put himself in the P3 at the overall classification of World Hard Enduro Championship, 40pts. Mario Roman was another one coming from an injury from Xross Hard Enduro Rally and he wasn’t fully recovered from it. Spaniard was on a roll despite all and had a great day on the bike. After winning Minus 400 Desert Extreme, he got himself another podium in Round 3, P2. Trystan Hart completed the podium and made history of being the first Canadian on the podium in Erzberg. He had his ups and downs throughout the race and even dropped to P8 before Carl’s Dinner but it didn’t take long to recover those positions and more back. The Italian Extreme Enduro fewer continued with Rd3 Headless Rider Extreme Enduro in Teramo, 4-5 June, and the racing weekend kicked off with Prologue. The prologue format was to leave a one-hour window to get as much hot laps as riders wish to get for each classes. Sonny Goggia was the man to set the best time for Sunday’s main race within the one-hour window and here you can watch all his attempts through GoPro POV. It was Gas Gas Official’s Michael Walkner who set the 2nd fastest and Matthew Green 3rd. For the next and the last round of the Italian Extreme Enduro Championship we will go to Vigolzone, Piacenza, on 17-18 September. The Italian Extreme championship heat moved to Teramo for Round 3, Headless Rider Extreme Enduro, past weekend and it was an unreal show with all elements from fans to enthusiast competitors. On Day 2 of racing, it was Sonny Goggia who opened the track for Gold Class. He was followed by his Championship rival Michael Walkner. The two exchanged the lead during the first lap but before it ended the Austrian took the lead. Gas Gas Factory supported Michael Walkner rode a great pace without making any major mistakes and brough the victory home for himself. He continued leading the championship. Privateer and Italy’s own Sonny Goggia put a great effort but it was just not enough to clinch the victory and had to yield for the second position. It was Rigo Racing’s Matt Green who completed the podium for the Round 3. It was a crazy fun racing weekend in the heart of Torricella Sicura and we cannot recommend enough to at least Europeans to be a part of it next year. The championship heat moved to Teramo, Italy, at the Italian Extreme 2022’s for Round 3, Headless Rider Extreme Enduro by Moto Club Falchilaga, and it was a crazy fun weekend for hard enduro fans. Racing weekend started with Day 1’s prologue where all riders took single starts into the forests of Torricella Sicura with a tricky super enduro section at the start. Although the track was bone dry it still offered the extreme fun factor with tricky sections here and there. The championship consists of three classes, Bronze - Silver - Gold, and the Gold Class witnessed a real fight with a lot of talents’ presence including Michael Walkner, Sonny Goggia, Kyle Flanagan, Alessandro Azzalini and Matt Green. On Offroad Day 2 at the Xross Hard Enduro Rally riders again had a 100km route to cover in pursuit of their fortune at the FIM World Hard Enduro Championship 2022 season. The course had three different specials for the day and as to the post-race rider comments the first half of the day war more extreme than the second. Defending WHEC champion and the current leader from the Offroad Day 1, Billy Bolt struggled a lot. Early in the stage he broke his clutch master cylinder and had to ride using all four fingers till the service point. Brit then fixed the issue but then admitted he had nothing left when he reached to the last technical sector and couldn’t push further. He finished P7 with falling 26 minutes behind the day’s winner, Manuel Lettenbichler. Mani had and excellent day after having P4 at Offroad Day 1 and showed some muscle. The German felt great on the bike than he expected and kept pushing further till the end. He was followed by Theodor Kabakchiev who had yet another blistering day among the factory guys. It was Sherco’s Wade Young who completed the top 3 for the day. South African’s fight with his back pain continued and had to spent too much time sitting on the bike which still was not enough to keep him not having the fun. He was happy with the result and carried the hope to Offroad Day 3. Extreme XL Lagares returned after two years of absence and hard enduro magicians from all around the world lined up for a taste of Portuguese extreme, 6 - 8 May 2022. Francesc Moret Clota was kind enough to wear our GoPro during the main race and he captured as much as from the start till his battery died. Rieju Factory rider did great during the first two days but it was time to really show off what he has from his trials background. The Spanish man felt great and made a good start and even collected some positions early in the race. He did not have any technical problem with his ride but the pace wasn’t there for a podium appearance at the end. Francesc completed the race in 3h54m58s and claimed P6 behind Ni Esteves.
