World’s toughest hard enduro rally Red Bull Romaniacs 2022 was held for the 19th time this year, 26-30 July 2022, as the 5th round of FIM’s Hard Enduro World Championship. The Carpathian challenge was always a great show for the fans but in 2020 and 2021 we didn’t get the iconic City Prolouge due to global pandemic restrictions. The European hill climb sensation Impossible Climb Andler was held for the 21st time and the two-day dirt bike feast was a total Dirt Bike Destruction Derby for all. The racing weekend started with the free practice on Saturday, 15:30, where all classes were free to give it a go to the wall-like giant of Andler - Scönberg. At 20:30 the real show started with the first heat where all riders hit the hill for one time. Saturday ended with an absolute wonderful concert & party and we can’t thank enough to the organizers on behalf of all participants and spectators. Sunday started at 10:00 am with the remaining 3 heats for each class. After completing all 4 heats 10 best performance had their last chance for a final go at 15:30. The only matter is to reach highest point no matter how much time you spent. We have witnessed a miracle in which Roel Geurts (IG: roelgeurts87) made an epic run to the hill and finished all the way up without a single mistake. This was a historic moment for the race’s itself also. He became the first rider to finish on top of his bike. Impossible Climb Arette returned back with a massive Hill Climb show at the heart of Pyrenees in Southwestern France, 21 August 2022. The 38-year-old event, since 1984, challenges to the riders with its 230m climb with an elevation that varies from 70 to 82% at its steepest point. For all these years very few had the chance to see the top on their motorcycles and often, years past without no one being able to make it. We first filmed it in 2019 and in that edition, no one made it to the top. The event got cancelled both in 2020 and 2021 due to global pandemic. Challenging to a hill this steep requires creating the purest dirt predators with ideas that are look like out of since-fiction movies. More than 60 riders hit the hill for four times throughout the day and only one made it to the top, Yohan Peltier – KTM 1190. We tried our best to reduce the content we filmed by carefully picking only the best and we hope you enjoy it. The iconic City Prologue of Red Bull Romaniacs 2022 made its comeback after two years of longing and it was a feast of urban struggle for the hard enduro world. The action at the FIM’s Hard Enduro World Championship resumed in Romania for Round 5 Red Bull Romaniacs, 26-30 July 2022. Being in the historic heart of Sibiu, the City Prologue is known for its ridiculously hard man-made obstacles and it took so many tolls on the riders in the past. It was replaced with Off-Road Time Trial Qualification first in 2020, due to the global pandemic, and this situation continued in 2021 also. With the eased health measures, it was the organization’s chance to return back to originals and they did so. All riders took 2 hot laps in order to be qualified as high as possible to the prologue finals and at the Gold Class it was Alfredo Gomez who scored the best time. He was followed by Manuel Lettenbichler and Taddy Blazusiak. During the finals the story did not change much and the qualification top three finished on top again with a slight change of positions. Alfredo Gomez got the City Prologue victory and continued showing muscle in his post-factory career. Worlds craziest cill climb challenge, French Championship, returned past weekend with Round 1 Impossible Climb Bernex. After two years of cancellation, due to global pandemic, we finally premiered French Hill Climb Championship 2022 season with Round 1 Bernex. Located in the French Alps, the beautiful town was a show on its own with breathtaking scenery. 60 riders from both France and Switzerland lined up to give it a go to the 200 meters climb, through which they had to cover 90 meters of altitude. Each rider had 4 chances to set the highest point in the shortest time. The best time, 22s06, was set by Julien PERRIN who was followed by Julien SAPORITI with 22s44. Sylvain GEHIN was the one to climb to the top in the first run, in 22s74, completed the podium, but being injured at the finish, he cannot defend his chances for the final victory. For the women class; another victory for Laura PASCOLINI, after her successes in 2016 and 2019, with 170 meters. This put her in 23rd position in the general classification. Hiu Selatan Hill Climb 2022 was held in Cilacap, 400 km South-East of Jakarta, for the first time and we had some hot names including Graham Jarvis and Mario Roman. The race format was a bit unusual and it took some time to get. On Day 1 there was a prologue section of seven hill climbs. Despite the climbs being tricky and too steep for amateur taste congrats to all competitors for not hesitating and always taking the extra mile. On Day 2 there was an extreme single track with technical riverbed steep forest section. There was a couple more climbs in the forest but the one at the end just stole the fans away from the rest. Graham Jarvis comfortably won the race in Mario Roman’s absence. Mario was present but just as a fan, he suffered an injury in Serbia, WHEC Rd2 Xross, and he is in recovery period. The Indonesian enthusiasm of motorcycles and hospitality was something to witness. After two years of absence Extreme XL Lagares was back on for the 2022 edition and during the whole weekend we captured some of the most unique and scientifically unexplainable hard enduro fails. Main race on Sunday was easier than usual and it was completed 1 hour earlier than expected but both City Prologue and the Endurocross tracks were tricky as hell. We edited the best of the fails that caught on cameras for you to enjoy and learn. We thank to all fans for the cheer and to the organization for a great show. Racing weekend was started with Endurocross on Friday and continued with City Prologue on Saturday. Especially having the iconic City Prologue back was exciting even if it was a brief one. After each rider took one lap the fastest 10 qualified for the whole shot. Endurocross semi-finals and the final were in the evening. Main race was on Sunday. Italian Extreme Enduro 2022 Season kicked off with Round 1 Wild Woods Extreme in Genova. Being a beautiful race and a great organization, it attracted a lot of international faces including Michael Walkner, Dominik Olszowy and Matt Green. Racing weekend started with the prologue and each classes took 1h to set the best time for main race starting position. Heavy rain that the region had during past week forced the organizer to cancel a number of sectors but still with iconic riverbeds and hill climbs it was a great action. Spanish Hard Enduro 2022 Championship resumed for the Round 3 La Pesquera in the Cuenca province of Castilla - La Mancha without the overall leader Mario Roman. 2-Days of racing started with the prologue action and all eyes were on Teodor Kabakchiev and David Cyprian as well as the Spanish nationals Eloi Salsench and Francesc Moret Clota. Teodor was on top of the prologue qualification and he is followed by David Cyprian (P2) and Jordi Quer Molgo (P3). Prologue winner Teodor Kabakchiev was suffering from the mild symptoms of flu in the morning of the main race and it showed its effect on the Bulgarian’s early pace. David Cyprian on the other hand led the race for the most part of it till Teodor made his move at the very last lap. Teodor Kabakchiev won the Round 3 by completing it in 3h16m15s, David Cyprian came in P3 (+4m54s) and Francesc Moret Clota P3 (+1Lap).
