My 15-year-old daughter Lia got her drag racing license before she could even apply for her learner’s permit. Even though she’s cleared to launch the 1,400hp Hoonicorn she can’t drive herself to school! With the ‘22 American Rally Association season over, I decided to take my Hyundai i20 WRC race car for one last ride—in LA traffic!! It’s wild to think that a competition-spec race car like this can also be street legal, but that’s part of what makes rally racing so special. I met up with Trouble Andrew at his studio and gave him a ride, drove through Hollywood, then eventually met up with good friends Rob Dyrdek and Damon Way for a cruise up to Malibu to get dinner before saying goodbye and sending the race car back to Europe.
