In many forms of racing, a hydraulic handbrake is a crucial piece of equipment. In very tight corners, especially with high traction, it may be difficult to completely rotate the car. During these situations, the hydraulic handbrake comes in handy and allows the driver to "turn on a dime." In this video I complete my Demon Eyes installation by wiring them up to the MX5 with a remotely controlled switch. The switch is active at all times, meaning I can turn the lights (or any other accessory I connect) on and off any time i want from up to about 100m away, even when the car is off. COOL! This same switch can be used to control just about any accessory you like. This particular module handles up to 5A of current, but you could always use it to trigger an auxiliary relay that handles more current if you needed to. Remote horn, anyone? You can never have too much chassis stiffness. Weight aside, the more the better. Chassis bracing maintains alignment angles and spring rates by greatly reducing body or chassis flex. In fact, it helps every component in the suspension system do its job properly and you can feel the difference through improved turn-in, sharper steering response along with greater steering feedback. In this short video I show you how to install a Strut Brace, and give a quick review of my initial impressions when used in conjunction with the stock suspension.
