We actually had a few inches of snow fall overnight giving the mountain a true winter feel. They are all twinnish style snowboards with roughly a medium flex for versatility and stability without being too aggressive. I think that the Warpig and Custom are going to offer the best powder performance while the DOA and Westmark are going to be the most fun in the terrain park out of this group, however I wouldn't hesitate to ride any type of terrain on any of these snowboards. I believe that a good do-it-all snowboard is a board that feels secure and stable regardless of the terrain, and is going to offer that performance without limiting you and while putting a smile on your face. I think these 5 snowboards will do just that. The snow actually changes throughout the day from firm and icy in the mornings to deep slush by afternoon so I was able to feel out the Process Off-Axis in some pretty variable conditions. I felt that the Process is most at home in the park and has a medium-soft flex. It is really fun for buttering and jibs and is also pretty easy to press. I also like that it has some decent pop to offer for jumps and ollies. It's been difficult to find a snowboard shop that carries the Burton Step On, but our friend has a pair that he's loaning to us for a few laps. We're going to test the Burton Step On by doing a few laps though the terrain park here at Mammoth mountain. The conditions for snowboarding today are perfect with the sun shining and snow getting soft in the terrain park. The things that I'll be looking for from the Burton Step On is how responsive they are, the level of convenience and also comfort as I'm snowboarding. I'm doing me test lap through the terrain park and will do some butters, jumps and some boxes/rails. I'm also going to as my friend Qaesar what his thought are on the Burton Step On, now that he's been snowboarding with them for a few months. Finally TJ is going to take them thought the terrain park and test them out on jumps and rails to give them a true test in the park. This was the first powder day of my season, and I couldn't have asked for better conditions for this review. The deep thinker is a great snowboard for powder as well as carving, and was performing really well in the snow and trees we were riding. In this snowboard you'll find a setback stance and slight taper, as well as all of Burtons high end tech. This combination makes a board that is really versatile and very powder friendly. Hood in Oregon and will be doing a head to head comparison of the 2018 Burton Process and Burton Custom. The boards featured in the video have the Burton Kilroy team graphics, but don't worry, they are just the same as the the standard model. The biggest differences between the snowboards are the shape design and flex. The Process is a mid flexing freestyle focused snowboard that is a true twin, while the Custom is a medium-stiff flexing, directional, all-mountain snowboard with a setback stance. One awesome feature on the Custom is that it has a twin flex, so by moving your stance forward about 1 inch from the reference stance, you can actually ride the Custom as a twin as well! In the end I found the Custom to be more aggressive and better for carving, freeriding, and jumping; and I found the Process to be better suited as an all-around freestyle snowboard that is more playful and better for rail features.
