The Ford 460 engine build starts out with a junkyard 385 series engine, which was Ford's final big block V8 engine design. Because these engines were sold from model year 1968 to 1996/7, these engines are plentiful and fairly cheap. The Horsepower team picked up theirs for only $200.

The new rear end is in and we are finishing up the last few tasks to wrap the car up just in time for the first Rally Race! We thought we would be here a long time ago with the car but we are excited to finally put Project RockNRolla through its paces in the dirt.

BoostRodeo is building a budget rally car out of a 1981 TE72 Toyota Corolla. After lots of basic maintenance, fixing leaks and cleaning it was back on the road....for a minute... until tragedy struck. We knew that we broke an axle and after several spending several months looking we finally found a replacement. Today we are finally pulling the axle to swap in the junkyard donor, but things aren't going as planned and the damage is turning out to be so much worse than we ever imagined.

We have our work cut out for us even more so than we though to get it tore down and back on the track before we miss any of the fast approaching events for the winter season.

TE72 Corolla budget Rally Car build. As I talked to in the previous video, after putting a lot of time into this episode I really kind of hated the final cut. My Wife liked the video and really pushed me to post it. Maybe she is right and I am too focused on the parts I dislike to see the entire project............... Maybe it does suck and she is just nice.

LEAVE A COMMENT AND LET US KNOW WHAT YOU THINK SO WE CAN END THE DISAGREEMENT!

Part 3 of our Budget Rally Car Build we push forward on refreshing the motor. We also do some demo on the car and try to improve the driver ergonomics. The clock is ticking for Raceday and so far Mother Nature has been buying us time.
Comment with questions or things you would like to see more of in future episodes!

Today I was supposed to be uploading the next installment of project RockNRolla, our 1980 TE72 Corolla Rally Car Project. However after putting in a lot of hours editing the video over 2-3 weeks I came to the realization that I was really excited about this concept when I started but, really hate the finished product.

So instead of posting it I wanted to share the feeling in hopes someone else can relate. Maybe I am being to critical of my own work, maybe my skills just really aren't where they need to be.......either way I think it is something many of us experience and struggle with.
