The small terrain park is a great place to learn new snowboard tricks or get back tricks you haven't done in a while. The small park on Blackcomb has a nice line of features including small jumps, hips and boxes. The snowboard tricks I'm working on today are backside 360's, front side 180's and front board slides. The twist is one of the basic snowboard skills for getting board slides and other tricks in the park. The best place to start practicing the twist is outside of the park on the slope. By twisting on the slope you'll develop you muscle memory and be prepared for when trying it on a box in the park. My friend Rusty from Taiwan has been working on his boardslides and today I'm going to try a help him nail them. We're going to start by practicing the front boardslide position outside of the park on the snow. On the snow we can get twisted into a back shifty which is the same position you need for the front boardslide. We're also practicing the back shifty on jumps inside the park. Next we found an easy box where we can start progressing with the boardslides. The first couple attempts we rode onto the box 5050 and began to twist the boardslide.
