This is a brief look at what my 2022 has looked like so far. My driving duties came to a halt after 2021 reached a climax at the SKUSA SuperNationals, and since then I've been slowly working towards being able to race again. I went to the SKUSA Winter Series as a mechanic for Alex Dancho, the first two rounds of USPKS as a mechanic for Max Taylor, and to Challenge of the Americas as a coach for Christian Bird Racing. During the early stages of the year, I spent much of my time preparing to race at the opening USPKS weekend at Orlando Kart Center, only for some unfortunate circumstances to eliminate those plans merely three days before I was due to travel to Orlando. I still went to the race, albeit as a mechanic, but it was a heart-wrenching turn of events and was the low point of the year so far. Since then, however, things have been on an upward trend and I'm hopeful that a return to the national scene as a driver will be on the cards fairly soon. It made for some interesting moments, moving up 23 positions in 22 laps! Ride onboard with me in my Heat 1 of the ROK Cup Florida Winter Tour 2022 at the Isle Casino parking lot. This was my first race in a single speed kart in over 3 years so definitely not the best driving as you can see P1 gapping me. Put in 17th out of 48 with no draft in Qualifying at this absolute draft-fest of a track. Ski jump was interesting too. Una tercera cita repleta de emoción y drama fue lo que nos dejó la carrera en la pista del Kartódromo Óscar Casillas, recinto en el que la categoría KZ1 brindó altas dosis de adrenalina y de la que el piloto Taylor Greenfield fue protagonista. Tuvimos oportunidad de platicar con el piloto oriundo de Perú y compartió sus impresiones tras finalizar las prácticas y qualy, todo bajo el intenso calor tapatío y con tiempos muy cerrados en el top 5 de la categoría. Taylor añade la desafiante tarea de tener el kart a punto pese a los retos climáticos y técnicos del trazado de esta fecha 3, aprovechando cada sesión para mejorar el perfomance.
