Electrification is clearly the future for small city runarounds. However, some manufacturers are looking to the past for design cues - in a good way... The Honda e has dinky dimensions and doe eyes, reminiscent of its 80s ancestor, the Honda City. Underneath its retro exterior, it has a 35.5kWh battery and an electric motor that produces 152bhp. The Fiat 500 Electric looks like... well, a Fiat 500 - a tried and tested shape which has barely changed since the 50s. It doesn't have as much power as its Japanese rival (116bhp) but it does come in almost 200kgs lighter. These arent The Stig's standard track weapons of choice, but they should make for an interesting race. One of the very best kinds of car in the world is an estate. Call it what you will: station wagon, dad chariot, weekender, sportwagon or shooting brake, the fact of the matter is the second a manufacturer adds a big open area behind the rear seats and seals the deal with a hatch, it's a winner. In typical Top Gear fashion though, we like them fast and reasonably priced. That's why we have lined up the Scoda Octavia VRS next to the Cupra Leon Estate 2.0 TSI VZ2 for a lap around the Top Gear test track in the hands of The Stig. Naturally aspirated or turbocharged is a question that often divides the motoring world, so in this instalment of Stig’s Garage, we have two German sports cars that both make 395bhp to battle it out on the Top Gear test track. The 718 Cayman GTS has a naturally aspirated 4.0-litre flat-six and a 6-speed manual gearbox. Its contender, the TT RS, has a 2.5-litre turbocharged five-cylinder under the bonnet. Becky reckons the Cayman is more of a driver's car but also knows the Audi has all the mechanical grip and power to take on the Porsche.
