The SEMA crunch is real. Suppy, Grimm and Team 69 have a million and six things to get done and not a lot of time to do it. NSX GT3 carbon aero, custom suede dash and steering wheel, carbon ceramic brakes, a custom steering column... the list goes on. Most important is to get all fluid systems plumbed and the truck on the ground before Honda Performance Development's trackside engineers come by to help with the first start. It's every Hoonigan's favorite part of a new project car: tearing into a perfectly good, working vehicle and cutting it to pieces with the boys! The clutch on our HPD IndyCar engine is only meant for a chassis that weighs around 1600lb, so our 4500lb Ridgeline needs to go on a serious diet if this project is going to go anywhere. Back to work on the Honda IndyTruck by Hoonigan! Suppy and the rest of Team 69 had a lot to do after gutting the Ridgeline last time. First, we had our buddy David come out to 3D scan the Ridgeline as well as a 2020 NSX that Ron borrowed. With that data, Alex was able to design and build a custom subframe while Angelo & Trevor got the roll cage mocked up and Jameson focused on engine mounts. SEMA is here! Suppy, Grimm, and the rest of Team 69 finalize the last handful of details while our boy Rocky from 360wraps gets the IndyTruck looking sick with a complete graphics package. The truck then heads out to Las Vegas for its big reveal in the Pennzoil booth. Don't think that this is the last you'll see of this thing -- we've got big plans for next year. With SEMA over and behind us, it's time to actually put the Honda IndyTruck to use! But first, Suppy and the boys do a bit of track prep and fab up some sick new titanium intake tubes. Out on the test track at Honda Proving Center, Honda's pro driver takes the truck for its first laps before letting our very own Alex Grimm take over. No REAL tire slaying was allowed, but there's a bit of incidental sideways action to satiate the drift heads out there.
