After three days of racing, we finally reached to the last day at the 2nd round of FIM World Hard Enduro Championship 2022 Season, Xross Hard Enduro Rally. Riders fought back and forth starting from Straight Rhythm Prologue and through Offroad Day 1-2. Manuel Lettenbichler was the one on top of the leader board with a comfortable gap, +8m, and all he had to is to stick to his pace one more day. The German admitted that he came here without any expectation but after Day 2 he found himself leading and that changed the mood. Letti had yet another great riding without any trouble and crowned his comeback with a victory. Theodor Kabakchiev proved himself to be a serious contender to the factory riders and got a stunning podium appearance with a P2. Young Bulgarian now sits in P3 at the championship standings after a P6 at Rd1 Minus 400 and a P2 here in Serbia, 27Pts. 47 years old GOAT Graham Jarvis was the one who completed the podium. Coming back from a major knee injury and becoming a privateer, the Brit still has it and he now leads the WHEC standing with Billy Bolt, 30 Pts each. Xross was also the 1st round of the newly announced integrated World Hard Enduro Junior Championship. South African Matt Green was the one who topped the points at the first round with an overall P10. He was followed by Britain’s Mitch Brightmore, P14, and Israel’s Suff Sella, P15. On Offroad Day 2 at the Xross Hard Enduro Rally riders again had a 100km route to cover in pursuit of their fortune at the FIM World Hard Enduro Championship 2022 season. The course had three different specials for the day and as to the post-race rider comments the first half of the day war more extreme than the second. Defending WHEC champion and the current leader from the Offroad Day 1, Billy Bolt struggled a lot. Early in the stage he broke his clutch master cylinder and had to ride using all four fingers till the service point. Brit then fixed the issue but then admitted he had nothing left when he reached to the last technical sector and couldn’t push further. He finished P7 with falling 26 minutes behind the day’s winner, Manuel Lettenbichler. Mani had and excellent day after having P4 at Offroad Day 1 and showed some muscle. The German felt great on the bike than he expected and kept pushing further till the end. He was followed by Theodor Kabakchiev who had yet another blistering day among the factory guys. It was Sherco’s Wade Young who completed the top 3 for the day. South African’s fight with his back pain continued and had to spent too much time sitting on the bike which still was not enough to keep him not having the fun. He was happy with the result and carried the hope to Offroad Day 3. The action at the FIM World Hard Enduro Championship moved to Serbia for the Rd 2 Xross Hard Enduro Rally and all the eyes were on Manuel Lettenbichler as the German made his comeback after recovery from the injury. After Day 1’s Straight Rhythm prologue riders lined up for the real deal on Offroad Day 1 where a 100km single track laid through Tara Mountain. Round 1 Minus 400 Desert Extreme winner and championship leader Mario Roman had a bad day of racing due to an early crash he had which then turned out that he broke his toe. The Spaniard kept continuing and did his best and finished the day with P7, ahead of his team mate Wade Young. WHEC title defender Billy Bolt rode with a great pace and grouped with Mani from time to time, finished the day on top. Theodor Kabakchiev was on fire through the day and enjoyed his pace as the Bulgarian played catch with the leading group and hanged there. Theodor finished the day with P2 ahead of the Day’s other surprise Michael Walkner, P3. Italy’s top hard enduro rider Sonny Goggia took on the FIM’s World Hard Enduro Championship 2022 season with Round 1, Minus 400 Desert Extreme. With his new team and new ride, he looked sharp and tried his best under the severe weather conditions. Racing week started with Day 1’s Urban race prologue and all riders took 2 hot laps to set the best time possible. Sonny finished his first heat in 26m44s and got the P8. We had an extreme season opener at the FIM’s World Hard Enduro Championship 2022 Season in Israel’s exotic Dead Sea region. Racing week started with the Urban Race prologue and it is followed with the Super Enduro action in the afternoon. Worlds best hard enduro riders took two hot laps in the Urban Race prologue and the fastest 30 qualified to the super enduro. After three semi-finals 12 riders took the whole shot for the super final. 2021 and 2022 FIM Super Enduro champion Billy Bolt was everyones favourite and he brought the P1 home. World's best hard enduro riders faced a different kind of challenge in Israel at the Minus 400 Desert Extreme and it was the mindblowing heat. FIM's World Hard Enduro 2022 season started with Rd 1 Minus 400 and sometimes the conditions went inhumane. All competitors started to the Day 1 with a 14KM single track qualifier which was to define the fastest 30 to compete the afternoon session Super Enduro finals. They have got two runs for the best time but only the first one was mandatory. Although Billy Bolt was on top after the first run Sherco duo Mario and Wade took their second and passed Billy. Wednesday - Day 2 - started with a shock of heat and it was 40 degrees celsius early in the morning. Riders hit the 18KM prologue with the hope of having a flawless one which would help them decide not to take the optional second run. Sherco’s Wade Young was on a charge and completed the first run on top by finishing it in 37m48s. His team mate Mario Roman came in second only 6s behind and Billy Bolt third, +22s. The weather conditions got worse by the temperature reaching 50 degrees and a sand storm closing in which forced the jury to cancel second run and let riders charge their bodies for the main challenge. FIM World Hard Enduro Championship 2022 season kicked off with Minus 400 Desert Extreme Race in Israel. Race gets its name from the exotic Dead Sea region which is the lowest point on earth, 430.5m below sea level. After two days of qualification from Day 1’s Urban Race and Day 2’s Desert Prologue it was the day of main race - Minus 400 - on Thursday, 7th April. Final stretch was a 75KM single track from the city of Arad to the Dead Sea which was gradually designed to get tougher to the finish line. The pack hit the track at 08:00 in the morning in search of the best result that they can achieve. Desert Prologue winner Wade Young was the early leader of the race and reached to the CP1 first. South African kept his pace balanced with the leading group till CP8 but then he lost it. It was Mario Roman’s turn and he brought it home for the team. Spaniard fought for the lead with Billy Bolt and Wade Young till CP8 but then made his impact and took the lead till the chequered flag. Mario Roman got a stunning victory under these harsh conditions and made a dream start to the season. After passing CP8 Billy Bolt couldn’t find anything to fuel himself for a final move and from then on it was the struggle of hanging in the position for the Brit. After all he was happy finishing P2 under these tough conditions.
