The Rotary shifter kart (powered by a Hercules W2000 wankel motor) had been in storage since the last video we did with it of hitting the top speed. The clutch had failed at the end of the video due to the clutch pushrod welding itself to the ball bearings and eating through the lever arm. We had found a hydraulic clutch on ebay for a Harley that had the same size diameter for the pushrod, and it ended up working better than we expected! We also changed the gearing to get us some better top speed! This rotary go kart is powered by a 1975 Hercules W2000 motorcycle and is a complete monster for this small go kart frame! In order to get this thing running and driving again we had to remake an exhaust system using a cheaper amazon muffler, we also needed to weld up a system to keep tension in the chain. This kart is also rocking the 787b Renown livery of the 1991 Le Mans car. While it doesn't seem like much, it took us hours to get everything up to spec. After it was ready to go, we took it out to some abandoned roads and really let it get up to top speed! In this video we manually tune the turbo efi go kart and MAX OUT the injector. We were able to get it to run a little on the rich side at high rpm which is exactly what we wanted! This thing is really fast now and really builds boost and pulls into higher rpm. And we can really floor it and make the most of the turbo because before we couldn't pass 3/4 throttle. There is nothing quite like this and we are way past the point of this being practical so keep in mind this is only for the fun and experience of having a turbo go kart, not to make crazy power. In order to get this thing all finished up we first needed to install a custom steering wheel and 3d printed badges. This kart is also rocking the 787b Renown livery of the 1991 Le Mans car. While it doesn't seem like much, it took us hours to get everything up to spec. After it was ready to go, we took it out to some abandoned roads and really let it get up to speed! While we were driving we unfortunately lost the clutch, we think that there was a metal ball in the clutch rod that got welded to the push rod itself. Hopefully we can find the parts we need to get this thing back on the road! ***DG Aluminum Silencer - http://www.dgperformance.com/motorcycle-exhaust.php?pyID=831 ** Today the rotary rips for the first time! This rotary go kart is powered by a 1975 Hercules W2000 motorcycle and is a complete monster for this small go kart frame! In order to get this thing driving we needed to add some more bracing and fabricate a custom exhaust for it. While it doesn't seem like much, it took us hours to get everything working properly and doing its job. With this, we took it to a really cool spot and we were able to properly thrash on the go kart and burn some fuel and rubber! Today the rotary moves under its own power for the first time! This rotary go kart is powered by a 1975 Hercules W2000 motorcycle and is a complete monster for this small go kart frame! In order to get this thing moving under its own power, we needed to add brakes, throttle, clutch, fuel system, battery box, ignition system, and a chain tensioner. While it doesn't seem like much, it took us hours to get everything working properly and doing its job. With this, towards the end of the video we were able to start this engine for the first time on the shifter kart frame and we are more than excited to get to ripping this thing! Rotary Shifter Go Kart build starts now! In this video we rebuild our ultra rare 1975 KC27 rotary motor found in the Hercules W2000 Motorcycle. This is a 5 speed 294cc rotary motor with close to 30 bhp. In order to get it running, we had to completely disassemble the motor and take apart the entire rotor assembly to rebuild the rotary motor. This rotary go cart uses an engine similar to the artic cat 303cc rotary snow mobile so we think that we are going to be able to buy side seals from that to get this thing running. This is going to be one cool shifter go kart build! When rebuilding this Sach's Wankel motor for this shifter kart we had to soak it in Metal Rescue for a few days as well as break out all of the embedded side seals. After the rotor was disassembled we put in some brand new OEM Sachs side seals and then installed the rotor into the housing and torqued down the casing. The rebuild seems to have gone super good! In this video we drive the 60's turbo go kart for the first time with a boost gauge! This thing is powered by a turbocharged predator 212 engine. What we needed to do was make a turbo manifold for the turbo predator 212, oil system, and electrical system to make sure the turbo could run completely autonomously, that way when we hook it up to the engine, we would know that there were no issues on the turbo side of things. After we did that we ran this turbo kart under boost with 2 carburetors, made custom intake piping, and finally revved it up and tuned it so it ripped! Then, a few weeks later we decided to change things up and use a single blow-through carb design with a pressurized fuel system and a 22mm mikuni.
